Israeli Rahm Emanuel (born November 29, 1959) is an American politician who is now the mayor of Chicago. Previously, he was in the White House chief of staff of President Barack Obama. He served as senior advisor to President Clinton in the White House 1993 - 1998 represented a member of the Democratic U.S. House of Representatives 5th District Court of Illinois from 2003 until his retirement in 2009 to resume his place in the Obama Administration.

Emanuel was chairman of the Democratic Congress Campaign Committee during the 2006 elections, milestones, and remained a strategist for House Republicans during the 2008 cycle. Under Republican control of the house in 2006, Emanuel, Chairman of the Democratic Caucus. This makes the fourth House Democrat behind Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and Jim Clyburn majority whip.

Two days after the election victory of Obama, it was announced that Barack Obama in the White House chief of staff refers. Emanuel left the house 2 January 2009 and began his work as Chief of Staff 20th January 2009, the day of the inauguration of Obama.

Emanuel resigned as chief of staff effective first October 2010, a campaign for mayor of Chicago from the sale of Richard M. Daley continues. Elected 22nd February 2011, with 55% of the vote.
